MASTERMADE IN CANADA & JAPAN SINCE 2016

Purveyors of heritage-inspired knitwear, crafted using traditional hand and machine knitting manufacturing methods. FAIZ T.S. collaborates with family-owned mills in regions known for knitwear craftsmanship in Canada and Japan.

In British Columbia, Canada, we work with a mill known for traditional ‘Cowichan’ knitting since 1975. The mill employs expert artisans from Native and other communities in the region. Using Canadian-sourced virgin wool, each article is crafted for up to 140 hours before reaching completion.

In Sagae, Yamagata, a region known for high-quality machine knitting, we work with a mill currently operated by third-generation family members and originally founded in 1953. The mill continues to operate its vintage Toyoda and Suzuki machinery to process quality-sourced yarns sourced from the Rocky Mountains to Uruguay.

FAIZ T.S. articles are designed with contemporary cues whilst remaining true to authentic and historical techniques—from spinning, dyeing to knitting the final garment.

OVER 140 YEARS OF CANADIAN CRAFT

Incepted in the late 19 century and designed to be worn in harsh winter climates as an outer layer. Often displaying beautiful Native imagery within the knitting patterns.

INSPIRED BY COWICHAN KNITTING

An iconic Canadian traditional craft that rightfully belongs to its Native people and their roots, the Cowichan sweater is authentically Canadian. Its contemporary derivatives continue to be made in the land where they originated, by FAIZ T.S. & CO.

HANDCRAFTED IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

Each sweater is hand knit for up to 150 hours using the same knitting techniques used to craft authentic Cowichan sweaters. Designed with modern updates whilst remaining true to its authentic form. Orchestrated by a family owned knitting mill in located in B.C., Canada.
