Okane Short Cowhide Leather Cardholder

Cut from vegetable tanned Shonan cowhide, tanned in Himeji, a region that has shaped hide into leather for well over a thousand years, its tough, weather resistant hides refined over generations into some of Japan's finest cowhide. The craft runs deep here, carried in the water of the region's rivers and in hands that have passed the process down through time.

A slim card holder built to carry the essentials, with four exterior slots and a center slot for a fifth card or folded bills, cut close to the body without excess bulk. Edge finished with a hand skived bevel and hand burnished to a smooth, closed finish throughout. In natural leather, the surface is left untreated and responsive, absorbing the oils of daily handling and the wear of pocket storage to slowly deepen in tone, each holder taking on its own patina shaped entirely by use.
